Around 180 students and operators have been trained in knowledge, skills, and attitude by theoretical training, practical Safety Lab training, and practical assignments at the real workplace in the company. They are trained by HSE certified teachers and company trainers who specifically trained to deliver the training program.
In 2009 and 2010, the students and operators were trained in 3 parts:
1. Theoretical training
The theoretical training covers in total 33 lessons of Safety, Health, and Environment, with state-of-the-art learning materials. At the end, there was an exam to measure if the trainees have understood the required knowledge.
2. Practical safety lab training
VAPRO has built and developed safety lab in the 4 partner schools in Indonesia. In the Safety Lab we can raise the awareness of risks by imitating hazardous situations and accidents on a small and safe scale.
3. Practical assignments in the company
The practical assignment at the workplace in the company is very important for the trainees to implement all the knowledge and skills learned in the theoretical and safety lab training, as well as to increase their attitude and awareness in HSE. Each participant work with specific assignments fitted with their own workplace, and they assessed by means of observation and practical assessment in the end.
